About Me
Hi, I’m Esther, an artist and experienced art teacher based in the Burton on Trent, with over 20 years of teaching in secondary schools and a lifelong love of creativity.
Art has always been a constant in my life. After completing a foundation course in art, I went on to earn a BA (Hons) in Ceramics. While I’ve explored many different mediums over the years, drawing has always held a special place in my heart.
That connection grew even stronger when I welcomed my dog, Mabel, into my life. Her expressive face and playful personality sparked a new creative journey, capturing the unique charm and spirit of animals through highly detailed, realistic portraits.

I specialise in hand-drawn pet portraits, primarily dogs, but also cats, birds, and any beloved companion you’d like to honour. Each portrait is created using the finest materials, including Faber-Castell Polychromos, Derwent Artist and Caran D'arche coloured pencils on hot-pressed watercolour paper, allowing me to capture every detail with care and precision. If you’re looking for a bespoke portrait of your furry (or feathered!) friend to treasure forever, I’d love to hear from you!
